Maria R Martin Art
I am a Fine Art student at the University of Manitoba School of Art.
Land Acknowledgement
I acknoledge that I am working, living and breathing on Indigenous lands. I live on Treaty One territory, the home of my ansestors, family and friends. I am extremely greatful to have access to resources from this land and water. I acknowledge that the water I use in my day-to-day life is sourced from Shoal Lake. I believe in change and work towards reconciliation and teaching others about how they can learn about the land they live on now, as I believe it is important to know the history of the land and people people who orginially inhabited this space.
What Is Currently Going On?
I am exhibiting in a group show put on by Graffiti Gallery. It will be running until the 25th of August, 2025.I hope to see you there!

“Winnipeg Artists: Sydney Caldwell, Colleen Simard, Sharyn Gutierrez, Mae Desmond, Margot Morrish and Maria Martin, to exhibit new work at Graffiti Gallery
Showcasing six recent University of Manitoba fine art graduates, Emergence brings together a diverse range of artworks created by the artists during their time at the University of Manitoba’s School of Art.
Emergence brings together six contemporary artists whose practices delve into identity, memory, environment, and transformation. Through painting, mixed media, found objects, digital manipulation, and installation, their work explores the complexities of personal and collective experience. Themes of masculinity, migration, consumerism, Indigenous futurism, and emotional landscapes surface through bold visual languages and imaginative storytelling.”
